Window Tint for Fleet & Business Vehicles: What Utah County Companies Should Know

If your business operates a fleet of vehicles — whether service vans, company trucks, or a mix of cars and SUVs — window tinting is one of the smartest investments you can make. Beyond the sleek, professional look, quality film protects your drivers, your equipment, and your vehicles' resale value. Here's what Utah County business owners in cities like Lehi, Orem, American Fork, and Eagle Mountain need to know.

Why Fleet Window Tinting Makes Business Sense

Driver Comfort and Productivity

Utah summers are brutal. Vehicles sitting in parking lots in Provo, Saratoga Springs, or Highland can reach interior temperatures well above 150°F. Quality window film dramatically reduces solar heat gain, meaning your drivers get in a cooler vehicle, run the AC less, and arrive at job sites less fatigued. That's a real productivity gain across a full fleet.

Interior and Equipment Protection

UV exposure fades upholstery, cracks dashboards, and degrades any equipment stored in the vehicle. A professional tint film blocks up to 99% of UV rays, extending the life of interiors and protecting valuable tools or electronics your crew depends on daily.

Brand Image and Professionalism

A uniformly tinted fleet looks intentional. Whether your vehicles are rolling through Pleasant Grove, Alpine, or down the I-15 corridor, consistent, quality tinting signals that your company pays attention to detail — a subtle but effective brand touchpoint.

Choosing the Right Film for Your Fleet

At King Romer, we offer two packages well-suited to fleet applications:

  • Basic Coverage — INSULEX True Carbon IR: A solid performer that blocks significant infrared heat, won't fade to purple over time, and provides a clean, professional finish. This is a cost-effective option for larger fleets where budget per vehicle matters.

  • Royal Protection — X Supreme Nano Ceramic: Our flagship film with lifetime warranty. Superior heat rejection, maximum clarity, and zero signal interference for fleets relying on GPS, tablets, or two-way radios. If your vehicles represent your brand directly to clients, this is the level to go with.

For most fleet managers, the right answer is a tiered approach: Royal Protection on client-facing vehicles and Basic Coverage on utility or back-of-house vehicles.

Understanding Utah Tint Law for Commercial Vehicles

Before you tint your fleet, you need to know the rules. Under Utah Code 41-6a-1635 (effective May 7, 2025), here's what applies to every vehicle registered in Utah:

  • Windshield: Must allow at least 70% VLT. Tinting is only permitted along the top edge — a maximum of 4 inches down from the top, or to the AS-1 line, whichever is lower.
  • Front side windows: Must allow at least 35% VLT, with no more than 5% variance as measured by a peace officer.
  • Rear side windows and rear window: No VLT minimum — any darkness is permitted.
  • No metallic or mirrored appearance on any window.
  • If any window other than the windshield top edge is tinted, the vehicle must have left and right side rear-view mirrors.

For fleets with cargo vans or vehicles without rear passengers, the rear window rules give you a lot of flexibility. We'll make sure every vehicle we service is compliant — we know the law and we follow it.

Fleet Scheduling: How King Romer Makes It Easy

We understand that downtime costs money. King Romer is a mobile service, meaning we come to your lot in Eagle Mountain, Lehi, Orem, or anywhere across Utah County. We can work around your schedule — early mornings, staggered vehicle batches, or whatever works for your operation. No need to pull your entire fleet off the road at once.

We'll assess your fleet, recommend the right film package per vehicle type, and provide a transparent quote before any work begins.
